I've gone through the camp sites and read the general mission statements for CAMP. CAMP encompasses many things. This is my take on CAMP.
Problem: We see that muslims are faced with challenges from a number of perpectives. There are a number of initiatives that have been created to address these various challenges.
Solution: Connect our human capital to these initiatives.
So what is CAMP? A platform that serves Muslims professionals and enables professionals to serve others.
So what does CAMP do? It networks, activates and promotes initiatives that serve Muslim Professionals or initiatives where Muslim professionals can provide a service.
CAMP needs to promote innovation in ideas and projects, creativtity and success. We need to showcase the success stories in our community to inspire and motivate this demographic.

What do you mean by Activation?
Activate means to get members of this community involved in positive activities.
We see many Muslims active during during their MSA years.
CAMP should motivate the post college professional to participate in an activity that interests them.
Assalamu alaikum
I think these goals are good, but they need to be more specific. We need to make a distinction between a mission statement and objectives. What you've described above is our mission statement. Now we need to come up with a list of objectives in order to make our goals described in the mission statement a reality. What can we do in order to connect Muslim professionals to various initiatives?
Are we looking for a command-and-control organization or more of a grassroots movement? Are we going to pre-determine which problems require initiatives and lay the framework for each initiative and then call upon Muslim professionals in our communities to volunteer for these initiatives? Or are we going to call upon Muslim professionals and ask them what problems they see in the Muslim community and what initiatives they can develop in order to address it?
In my opinion, one of the reasons why Muslim organizations repeatedly fail is because they go to extremes. Organizations like Al Maghrib and Zaytuna are two paradigms in this country and they both have a centralized leadership that relies on heavy grassroots participation. I think we need to take a mixed approach and come up with some initiatives and develop a volunteer base which can later be translated into a more grass roots movement.
